Project Snapshot

The Problem

Most mobile editing apps either feel too complex or too limited. Creators often struggle to quickly design trendy, platform-specific visuals without spending hours editing manually.

The Goal

Build a lightweight, creator-friendly design platform that makes creating social content fast, organized, and visually engaging for non-designers and creators alike.

The Outcome

Designed a scalable mobile-first content creation experience with editable templates, creator tools, organized collections, and monetization-ready premium flows.

My Role

Founding Product Designer — led the UI/UX design, product flows, interaction decisions, mobile editor experience, and parts of the product copywriting.

Business Context

THE MARKET GAP

The rise of creator culture and short-form content created a growing demand for fast, mobile-first design tools. However, many existing tools either required advanced design knowledge or overwhelmed users with complex interfaces.

Quotesmatic focused on simplifying this process through:

  • ready-to-edit templates

  • organized content categories

  • lightweight editing tools

  • creator-focused workflows

The goal was to reduce friction between “idea” and “posting.”

STRATEGIC GOALS

The platform aimed to help creators publish visually engaging content faster while making the editing experience approachable for everyday users, content pages, and social media marketers.

“Good content creation shouldn’t feel complicated on mobile.”

User & Insights

Editing Complexity

Many existing editing tools overload users with advanced controls, hidden actions, and desktop-style interfaces that feel difficult on smaller mobile screens.

Content Creation Fatigue

Creators constantly need fresh content for posts, stories, promotions, and engagement. Creating everything manually becomes repetitive and time-consuming.

Information Architecture

The product structure was intentionally designed around how creators naturally think while posting content.

Instead of overwhelming users with too many editing paths, the experience was divided into:

  • platform-based categories

  • use-case templates

  • lightweight studio tools

  • saved collections & reusable assets

This helped users quickly move from browsing → editing → exporting without confusion.

Design Decisions

  • Minimal Editing Flow

Simplifying Mobile Editing

The biggest UX challenge was designing an editor powerful enough for customization while still feeling lightweight and approachable on mobile devices.

The interface was structured to:

  • minimize screen clutter

  • prioritize editing canvas visibility

  • surface tools contextually

  • reduce interaction complexity

  • Simplified Template Access

Platform-first Template Organization

Templates were categorized based on where users intended to post them:

  • Instagram Stories

  • Posts

  • Reels

  • WhatsApp Status

  • Promotions, Product Launches & more

This reduced decision fatigue and helped creators immediately find relevant content formats.

  • Scalable Visual Language

Creator-friendly Visual System

The UI system intentionally used:

  • bold typography

  • clean spacing

  • highly visual cards

  • minimal editing friction

  • modern creator-centric aesthetics

The goal was to make the platform feel creative without becoming visually overwhelming.
